1st Grade
Welcome to 1st grade! Our goals for Reading are to have learners be able to understand and talk about what they have read. Learners should be able to decode and blend words with short and long vowels. Please read with your child everyday and talk about what you have read. The more exposure your child has to literacy, the easier it will be for them to gain proficiency.
Some of the goals in Math are to add and subtract within 20 using ten frames, number racks, and number lines. In addition, learners should be able to solve multiple-step word problems up to 20. Please practice counting to 120 with your child at home. They should be able to count independently by the end of the year.
