Hi! I am Mrs. Slaughter, Reading Intervention teacher. I have been teaching for 13 years, 7 of those years at Yale Elementary. Being a part of the Yale community has been extremely rewarding. My first 5 years at Yale I taught 4th grade and last year, I had the honor of taking on a new role as a Reading Intervention teacher. My new role allows me the opportunity to work with all grade levels offering reading support.
My husband and I have 2 beautiful children. Our daughter just graduated from college with a degree in Biology and our son is in his junior year of college, studying Theater. We enjoy spending time watching our children perform, our daughter is a dancer and our son is an actor. What else do I do when I am not teaching? I spend a lot of my free time volunteering for a non-profit organization supporting and helping members of the organization. My husband and I also enjoy spending time ballroom dancing. This summer we began learning how to paddle board, which has been a fun activity to do outside and still make sure we are social distancing.
