Psychologist

Hello! I am Ms. Rodriguez and I am the school psychologist at Yale Elementary. My pronouns are she, her, hers. This is also my second year as Yale’s special education staffing chair. I have had the privilege of serving the students, families, and community in Aurora for three years. This is my 4th year working for Aurora Public Schools, the most wonderful district in Colorado. I lived in Colorado for seven years and love all the activities this beautiful state has to offer. I especially enjoy going to Wash Park and playing frisbee and volleyball. I love all seasonal and outdoor activities like snowboarding, biking, camping, reading suspense and self-care books, and people watching.

During social-emotional groups this year, students can look forward to learning about emotions, behaviors, and identifying strategies to help ourselves and others feel better. We will explore the idea of ‘metacognition’ or thinking about our thinking and take time during group sessions to reflect on how our thoughts affect our behaviors. Together, we will learn by having fun, stepping outside our comfort zone, character role-playing, engaging with online resources, and much, much more! I am very excited to connect with all of you and learn together during the 2021 - 2022 school year!
